Masseria Villa Verde is set on 3 hectares (over 7 acres) of centuries-old olive groves. Oil production has been one of its primary purposes since it was built in the early 19th century.
The climate Puglia, the fruitful soil, the centuries-old olive trees, the processing methods including the cold pressing method within 24 hours after the harvest still guarantee our oils’ excellent qualities.
By visiting the olive groves and tasting no less than 4 types of oil, you will learn from an expert what it means to produce a high-quality extra virgin oil in Puglia.
Furthermore, from September to November, you will have the chance to work alongside our staff in the olive groves of the estate during the delicate phase of harvesting olives.
The experience includes an explanation of how Masseria’s olive mill works, an ancient tool used to grind the olives and turn them into Puglia’s green gold.
Those who wish to continue the tour can move on to one of the area’s modern oil mills, to learn about the various stages of the production of extra virgin oil today, guided by qualified staff.
